Why insure a child?
Child life insurance is permanent coverage for a minor. Families usually buy it for two reasons: to cover the sudden, unexpected costs of a child’s funeral, and to secure affordable, guaranteed coverage for the child’s lifetime โ no matter what happens to their health later.
The policy also builds guaranteed cash value. Some insurers allow that value to be withdrawn (which ends the policy) once the child reaches their early twenties โ a head start for education or a first home.
